Our annual conference occurred on Friday, June 2, 2017 in Annapolis and was a success! The presentations are now up and can be selected for download here


The Maryland Planning Commissioners Association's Outreach (MPCA) project kicked-off on Friday, June 2 at the Maryland APA Conference in Annapolis. MPCA, in collaboration with the Maryland Department of Planning, will conduct the effort over the Summer of 2017 with an online survey and a series of seven regional focus group meetings throughout the state.  Please see the info here.


Welcome to the Maryland Chapter of the American Planning Association's Website.  Our mission is to make great communities happen in Maryland by offering continuing professional development and other valuable services to our members that will enable them to excel in their practice. We advocate for excellence in planning, promoting education and citizen empowerment, and providing our members with the tools and support necessary to meet the challenges of growth and change. We hold a bi-annual conference, produce a quarterly newsletter, offer continuous opportunities to network, and experience new and varied educational opportunities across the state.

Taking the AICP Exam?

NCAC-APA will host its 2016 AICP Exam Prep Workshop on Saturday, October 8th, at Georgetown’s School of Continuing Studies (Downtown Campus at 640 Massachusetts Ave. NW). This popular training workshop will provide a review of key planning topics that could appear on the exam The training session will be led by the same presenters who routinely conduct the AICP Exam Prep at the National APA Conference.
All are welcome and encouraged to attend, especially if you are taking the exam in November or next May. Please share this information others who may be interested in attending.
Questions? Contact Riley Abbott. The $60 cost of registration includes lunch and an APA Chapter Presidents Council Study Manual. Register by October 3rd to attend (no onsite registration).
